What to visit in Cape Town for a day.

What to visit in Cape Town for a  day.

When I heard about South Africa for the first time, I linked it with wild fauna at its National Parks and its beloved heroe Nelson Mandela. Cape Town is Africa’s most popular tourist destination as well as a multicultural city which attracts inmigrants and expats. Besides, it is the second most populous city in South Africa and the largest in land area.

Neethlingshof Estate.

I was a Tour Escort for this shore excursion to Stellenbosch and Wine Tasting when I worked as crew member for a cruise ship. We left the port quayside by bus to a local wine estate named Neethlingshof Estate, the ride took for about one hour. When we arrived, we had a Cellar tour where we found machines for the wine production process, its wineyards reminded me of Europe as soon as I saw them for the first time. At the end, we had the epic wine-tasting with approximately 3 types of South African wines (I do not remember exactly how many I tasted 🙂 ), we were given also a survey paper to give our verdicts. Let me tell you something: South African wines are good for weddings 😉

During the Cellar tour.

Later, we went to Stellenbosch town which takes for about 30 minutes by bus from Neethlingshof Estate, this is a town where you can enjoy exploring, browsing and window-shopping (as some people say 🙂 ). Stellenbosch is surrounded by restaurants, souvernirs, jewellery, antiques, bars,…some stores over there show modern sculptures made of metals.

Another site to visit in Cape Town is the Waterfront which is located in front of the port quayside to its right, this is a popular site where locals, cruise people and tourists mix each other. It is an ideal place to spend quality time with your loved ones during the weekend by going to the mall, having meal at any restaurant, sharing drinks while enjoying live music at the bar. The most important spot inside the Waterfront is the Table Mountain yellow frame where everybody gets epic photo shots, then post them at their social media accounts. There are two over there.

My misconceptions about Cape Town dissapeared when I opened myself exploring and experimenting life like a local. Have you ever had any misconceptions about any place in particular?.
