Is this your first time traveling but you do not know where to start with? or

Are you worried about the prices of hotels, flights, transportation, etc so you assume everything is 4* or 5* category?

I was in the same situation like you the moment I decided to travel the world solo for the first time. So, I started browsing the internet to book my hotels, flights, transportation, etc and I realised that there are services at affordable prices depending on your budget and the type of, for example, accomodation, transport, etc.

Here you are the sites I use to arrange my trips with their affiliated links which means that for every purchase made through them, I will get a small commission at no extra cost to you 🙂 but it will help us to keep this site alive and running for the benefit of everyone who is already planning their next trip.

1.- ACCOMODATIONS:

BOOKING.COM:

This is the first site I come when looking for hotels. Once you book through them, they offer you a win-win commision, which means that you will have a link to refer to your friends to book hotels through your link, once it is confirmed, both of you will earn $15 respectively. Not only you book accomodations but also guided tours and rental cars!! 🙂

AGODA:

It is another site to look for more hotels options to stay between 1 – 3 nights.

EXPEDIA:

Besides of the sites mentioned above, I use Expedia also, it has rewards system which allows you to earn points and get upgrades on your room. Here you can also book flights, guided tours and rental cars.

2.- TRANSPORTATION:

OMIO:

I use this platform to book domestic flights and regional buses around Europe shown in different timetables and/or connections. There is also an option to travel by train!! 🙂

LATAM AIRLINES:I use this airline to book flights to the most transited airports in Europe such as Madrid, Barcelona, etc (I always get good fares when I purchase months prior to my trip), then I move around any city. Besides, you can book flights to any part of Southamerica with Latam Airlines.

3.- TRAVEL BOOKS & GUIDES:

BOOK: ”VAGABONDING: AN UNCOMMON GUIDE TO THE ART OF LONG-TERM WORLD TRAVEL” BY ROLF POTTS

Honestly, I suggest reading this book especially if you intend to travel for a long-term stay, if you are traveling abroad for the first time but don’t know the destination’s customs or modal codes to follow or if you feel insecure about traveling far from home. There you will find the different travel vagabond profiles as well as sources and tips about traveling.

LONELY PLANET:

I am using personally this guidebook to know facts about any destination prior to my departure. Besides, I have fun by learning basic phrases of the destination’s mother tongue 🙂
